Who We Are
We are a non-governmental organization established by Sudanese men and women, who came together to help improve education in Sudan by building elementary, middle and high schools around the country.
Our Mission
Donate To Educate works by collecting a one dollar donation from Sudanese men and women living abroad, to help build safe and accessible schools to increase literacy rates in Sudan.
Our Vision
We aim to construct structurally safe school buildings, which we believe is the first step to providing students with an adequate education. In the past few years, Schools have collapsed on students because of heavy rains and flooding. In one incident, a teacher has died because the toilet has collapsed when she went in. By building safe schools all around Sudan, students and teachers alike will no longer fear for their lives.
By building schools in big cities, towns and villages, our organization will help protect students from both physical and psychological harm. In few reported incidents girls have been kidnapped and raped when walking to school or going to collect water in Darfur. Another incident that took place a few years ago when students boarded an inadequate boat and drowned in the Nile. One family lost all their five daughters.
By building schools first, Donate To Educate will prevent such incidents from happening. Students will feel safe to go to school and this will transform young people’s lives and give children all over Sudan a chance of building a brighter future.
